Worker's Compensation

Previous Top Next

This report is specifically designed to assist with reporting wages for your worker's compensation (WC) insurance.

To properly use this report, set the Department for each employee to the rate 'code' - classification - as assigned by your insurance company.

These codes are usually a four digit number.

For Owner/Employees (if not subject to WC), use 'Owner' as their department.

ØIf you wish to see each owner's information separately, use 'Owner1', Owner2', etc.

The WC report prints in landscape if Adjustments to Income 3, 4, or 5 are being used.

Columns 9 - 15

Amounts for each of the Adjustments to Income fields.

Employee contributions to Cafeteria, Section 125, and Section 132 plans may be subject wages for Workers Compensation calculations.

Consult with your Workers Compensation insurance provider for the details.

CAUTION

If using the Professional Edition, and an employee has multiple pay rates, and an employee has received PTO - you may have to manually calculate the subject wages for each department, since PTO may need to be assigned to a specific department.

Medlin assigns PTO to the employee's primary department (department 1).

Your WC regulations may require PTO go to the employee's highest WC rate code.
